The Ordal · The public test
Resolutions fail quietly.Not here.
Three to five people who know you. Twice a week you tell them what you will deliver and what it costs you if you do not. Nothing is verified, everything is seen.
A promise without witnesses is not a promise.
The test used to be public. It was called an ordeal.
Beat 01 · The Oath
Twice a week you say what you will deliver.
Sunday and Wednesday, both by 00:00. One sentence for what you do, one for what happens if you do not. The group sees both from the second they exist.
Four runs, 5 km each.
Cold showers for a week, every morning.
Tax return finished and filed.
Invite the team into the next challenge.
No social media until Sunday.
Organise the next group meet-up, alone.
You set the stake yourself. It has to hurt, or the contract carries nothing.
Beat 02 · The Week
Two deadlines. No button in between.
You do not close the round. At 00:00 whatever stands is what counts, and it stands for everyone.
Beat 03 · The Witnesses
Nobody checks up on you. Everybody sees what is open.
Three to five people, a closed circle. No health app, no photo, no proof: you report your own result. That is the position, not the gap.
Skip your declaration or duck your stake, and you go ghost.
Beat 04 · Judgement Day
The loop, from the top to the close.
Four steps, twice a week.
01 · at the round’s start
Declare
One contract, one stake, in public in front of three to five people. Once it stands, there is no taking it back.
02 · the whole round
Deliver
The group sees what is open on your side. Check-offs happen in passing. There is no reporting screen and no reminder that goes easy on you.
03 · Sunday and Wednesday00:00
Judge
The deadline comes to you. Whatever stands at that moment is your result. It is not negotiated and not withdrawn.
04 · straight after
Close
The stakes fall due, the ring closes violet. What is left is a result nobody negotiates any more.
Beat 05 · Challenges
A stretch the whole circle runs.
One member starts, the others join. Their tasks become your declared tasks, with the same stake beside them.
Cold & Breath
A breathing drill plus a cold shower that gets longer every day.
- Three rounds of breathing, straight after getting up.
- Cold shower: thirty seconds on day one, ten more each day.
- No warm water afterwards, not even to warm up.
Breath Basics
Ten minutes of guided breathing, every morning, before anything else.
- Ten minutes of guided breathing before you touch your phone.
- Same time every day, weekends included.
- Sitting up, not lying down — in bed does not count.
Deep Work Sprint
Two hours without a phone on the one thing that matters.
- Decide the night before which one thing tomorrow is.
- Two hours straight, phone in another room.
- Tick it off at the end: done or not, nothing in between.
Beat 06 · The Record
A round leaves a result behind.
It is not corrected and not deleted. The same card you share is the link somebody joins through.
Say it in front of witnesses.
Three to five people, twice a week, a stake beside it. Nobody checks up on you. Everybody sees it.
